Youth Development Programme (YDP)
Due to the growing interest amongst school children for basketball a youth development program was founded in 1998 with a total number of 90 students only from the schools of Male’. With the help of the National and senior coaches in the country we proudly train today a total number of 400 students from almost all schools in six different age groups through out the year. Maldivian children today have the opportunity to participate in this program from the age of four to the age of seventeen. More than half of the current National Team and the 1st Division players have come through this program successfully. The children in this program have annual competitions and a basketball carnival to show their talents and to prepare them for senior level basketball.

UPDATES of MILO YDP Carnival 2011 [Saturday, September 30, 2011]
Match Results of MILO YDP Carnival
Due to bad weather, YDP Carnival matches scheduled to play on Saturday, October 1, 2011 (afternoon and evening) at Ekuveni Outdoor Basketball Court is shifted to Ekuveni Indoor Basketball Court. Due to the above change, four matches have been postponed for Sunday, October 2, 2011 (tomorrow)

OPENING of MILO YDP Carnival 2011 [Thursday, September 29, 2011]
Milo YDP Carnival has started today (Thursday, September 29, 2011) at Ekuveni outdoor basketball court. Two matches of Under-17 Boys played today. Gold House beat Blue House by 31 points to 20 points in the opening match and in the second match Green House beat Red House by 17 points to 16 points. Milo YDP Carnival was anugurated by the Treasurer of Maldives Olympic Committee Mr. Hussain Rasheed.
MILO YDP Carnival 2011 [Wednesday, September 28, 2011
Milo YDP Carnival is starting on Thursday, September 29, 2011. Matches on September 29, 30 and October 01 (Thursday, Friday & Saturday) will be in Ekuveni Outdoor and the matches on October 7 and 8 (Friday & Saturday) will be in Ekuveni Indoor Basketball Court.
AGE Groups and Teams : Under 09, 11, 13, Boys / Girls, Under-15 Girls and Under-17 Boys. Total : 28 Teams with 250 participants
