Maldives National Basketball Team has played the 2nd friendly game in Singapore today against the Singapore Youth National Team. Singapore Youth National Team consists of Under-23 players. Maldives won the match by 69 points to 60 points.
Maldives lost the 1st friendly game in Singapore [Saturday, January 23, 2010]
Maldives National Basketball Team has played the 1st friendly game in Singapore today against the Singapore National Champions Armed Forces Team (SAFSA). Maldives lost the game by 59 points to 51 points. Ali Fazlee scored 15 points for his team was declared the highst scorer of Maldives.
Next Game : will be will be played on Tuesday, 26 January 2010 @ 7:00pm against Singapore Under-17 Youth Team.
Two Friendly Games in Singapore [Friday, January 22, 2010]
Maldives National Basketball Team has moved from Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia to Singapore today to play two friendly games in Singapore. Games has already been fixed by the Basketball Association of Singapore.
The 1st game will be played on Saturday, 23 January 2010 @ 4:00pm against Singapore Armed forces Team (SAFSA) and the 2nd game will be played on Tuesday, 26 January 2010 @ 7:00pm against Singapore Under-17 Youth Team.
National Basketball Team Tour to Malaysia & Singapore [Thursday, January 7, 2010]
In preparation for the South Asian Games to be held in Dhaka - Bangladesh in January and February 2010, The National Basketball Team has left to Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia last Tuesday, 5th January 2010 for further training. The team will stay in Kuala Lumpur for two weeks. During that period, they will play four matches against the 1st Division Club teams and one match against the Malaysia National Team. After that, they will go to Singapore to play two matches. The 1st match against the Singapore National Team and the 2nd match against one of the top 1st Division club team.
The team consists of fifteen players and five officials. However, the team will be reduced to twelve players and four officials latest by 20th January 2010. The Team officials were Supun Wimal as Head Coach, Ibrahim Nahid as Coach, Ahmed Fyaz as Assistant Coach, Ahmed Ayaz Rasheed as Team Manager and Mohamed Waheed as Team Official.Club teams and one match against the Malaysia National Team. After that, they will go to Singapore to play two matches. The 1st match against the Singapore National Team and the 2nd match against one of the top 1st Division club team.
National Basketball Team Practice Kit Launching [Wednesday, November 18, 2009]
National Basketball Team practice kit launching ceremony was held at Ekuveni Indoor Basketball Court last Wednesday, 18th November 2009. The function was organized by MBA. The whole practice kit was exclusively sponsored by All Sports and the official brand was Grand Sports. The practice Jersey was officially launched by the Managing Director of Meridium Service (parent company of All Sports) Mr.Riyaz Rasheed. The South Asian Games Committee Members (local), NOC Senior Officials and the Senior Staff of All Sports were present at the special function.
NATIONAL TEAM PRACTICES [Sunday, October 18, 2009]
National men's basketball team has started the practices last Tuesday, (6th October 2009). The national team squad consists of 22 players, 1 head coach, 4 assistant coaches and 3 team officials. Maldives national basketball team is taking part in the SAF Games which is going to be held in Dhaka - Bangladesh in January 2010.
Head Coach : Supun Wimal - MBA Technical Director. Assistant Coaches : Ibrahim Nahid, Ahmed Fayaz, Mohamed Hashim & Mohamed Waheed. Team Officials : Ahmed Ayaz Rasheed, Ali Naseer & Abdul Nafiu Thaufeeq.
